Cutter Gauthier

Skating:

Average. Smooth skating for a big body even not top speed caliber. Footwork is efficient and powerfull. He is able to quickly switch on skating lanes and has great balance with his skating making him having the ability to drive to the net even when opponent trying to interfence him. He can also do quick deke moves with his top speed skating to pass by the opponents for a scoring chance.

Passing/Handling:

Above average. Has quick hands and see's the ice well. Can distribute the puck on transition situations to find the open area on the game. On offensive zone he is dangerous as always posing the shooting threat so he can also find open team mates for the pass instead so he is more like a dual-threat in that senses.

Shooting:

Elite. Has very powerfull and accurate shot with a quick release, which is he is always willing to use even from the tight areas. Should have great shot volumes for fantasy hockey. Scores goals usually mostly at the front of the goal or from both circles and center of the area, not so much from the blue line area.

IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):

Above averate. Is playing calm hockey, not throwing panic passes and has great vision, which in offensive zone is clearly visible as he is finding him self on many occations on goal scoring zones. His heat map is strong on all around the offensive zone which is a good mark.

Forechecking:

Is dangerous on forechecking situations as he is willing to use his body and strenght and also give some hits but not rushing out on the situations.

Defense:

Plays quite well all-around game which even he is not a special D player can survive in defending situations. What also helps him much is his big size which he can use againts opponents when battling for the puck or also his wide reach which allows him to interrupt opponents with the puck. Has had so far some usage on short handed but I could see him being more regular on D situations also on pro level after he matures a bit to the NHL level first.

Best Asset:

Both his elite shooting and his magical ability to find the open slots at front of the net to score goals.

Biggest Concern:

He has a lot to prove on pro level after bailing out on Flyers, how he can handle the pressures he himself set, will be a question more than his skill set.

Top Tier/Role Potential:

Top line power forward and PP1 goal scorer with over PPG and elite BASH.

Justification for Top Tier Assessment:

He has the skills, he has the size. I could see a dream compination working with Gauthier and Leo Carlsson combined with other Anaheim super young guns.

50th Percentile Tier/Role:

TOP-6 player with 60-70 pts and average bash.

Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:

Not getting the top line role in Anaheim with all the talent there are could impact on scoring vise. Also if he don't evolve as a hitter could impact his BASH on fantasy vise.
