NICK LARDIS

2025-05-30

Scout: Craig Wise

Skating:

Above average, always winning races to the puck, tracking down defenders and causing turnovers. Also shows off his speed coming down on the rush catching defenceman flat footed.

Passing/Handling:

Above average, great vision setting up teammates for easy goals. Puck handling also above average, rarely do you see players coming down and being able to deke opposing players out. Several times I watched him put the puck in defenders skates and turn them around. Some times several times in one rush.

Shooting:

Slightly above average, Lardis has a good shot and able to beat goalies from all angles.

IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):

Average, very little panic and rarely turned the puck over.

Forechecking:

Slightly above average creating turnovers using his speed and good stick work. Below average at playing the body. When games got chippy and he attempted to throw some hits, he looked so far out of his comfort zone.

Defense:

Average, nothing really stood out but when a defensive play needed to be made he would get it done.

Best Asset:

His offensive skills, he is a two dimensional player and when the goals aren't going in he will still be able to rack up the assists.

Biggest Concern:

Being an older player in the OHL i do question if this is a product of beating up on younger competition.

Top Tier/Role Potential:

Tier 2, 70 point player with limited BASH.

Justification for Top Tier Assessment:

If all breaks and he can translate his offensive game the talent is there.

50th Percentile Tier/Role:

Tier 3, 55-60 points no BASH

Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:

He has such a solid all around game I believe he is an NHL'r, even if some of the fancier plays don't translate he will still have a good floor.

Stylistic Comparable:

Reminds me of a cheap Mitch Marner with the fancy stick work and moves.
