Scout: Tony
Skating:
EJ is a very good skater, agile, able to stop offensive players by forcing them into bad spots.
Passing/Handling:
EJ is a excellent passer, he can get offense started by getting the puck out of the d zone quickly
Shooting:
shooting is not EJs forte. It is something he will need to work on.
IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):
EJ has very good vision, and see ways to play good d against rushing players and how to get the puck out of the d zone
Forechecking:
I did not see any fore checking in the games I watched
Defense:
EJ is not BASH defenseman, but more of a passive defenseman or maybe a better term is defensive dman
Best Asset:
EJs best assets are his skating and vision to see plays develop
Biggest Concern:
EJs shooting would be my biggest concern
Top Tier/Role Potential:
Tier 2 is probably the best tier for EJ, he will probably be a good assist man but might not and probably a good plus/minus player .
Justification for Top Tier Assessment:
EJs passing, skating and vision will help him get to Tier 2
50th Percentile Tier/Role:
"EJ could end up being a bottom or 7th defenseman, if he does not add some bash and goal scoring to his game
"
Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:
Lack of BASH, and goal scoring
Stylistic Comparable:
I would say EJ is similar to Olli Maatta.
Scouts Final Thoughts and Additional Stats/Info:
EJ has to play to his strengths, skating, passing and his vision. He could carve out a good career.
Games Scouted:
2 USHL games
