Scout: Tony
Skating:
Ethan is an effective skater with some speed.
Passing/Handling:
Ethan is very adept and finding open teammates with passes and has variety of ways to maintain puck possession.
Shooting:
Ethan has a variety of shots, wrist , snap and slap. He is an accurate shooter.
IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):
Ethan seems to have great vision and anticipation while playing with the puck. Allowing him find open teammates and get open for another shot on the give and go. I saw little to no panic in Ethans games.
Forechecking:
Ethan did do a fair amount of forechecking although not overly aggressive.
Defense:
With Ethans anticipation and forechecking his is an effective defensive player.
Best Asset:
I would say Ethan's bed asset is his Hockey IQ.
Biggest Concern:
My biggest concern with Ethan is he is not dynamic in any one area of the game.
Top Tier/Role Potential:
Tier 2/Middle 6 with some PK and PP time.
Justification for Top Tier Assessment:
Ethan is a responsible trustworthy player, so He will most likely get your team beat, but not going to wow anyone either.
50th Percentile Tier/Role:
Tier 3/Bottom 6 PK time
Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:
Lack dynamic play, Not a lost of BASH, not much Physicality
Stylistic Comparable:
I would say Anthony Cirelli
Scouts Final Thoughts and Additional Stats/Info:
If he develop into anywhere near Antony Cirelli, Tampa will have made a great selection.
Games Scouted:
