Scout: Tony
Skating:
Jake is a good skater, his game is not one of speed,
Passing/Handling:
Jake is very good and passing the puck and handling it in close to his body to get off a shot
Shooting:
Jake has many very good shots, slapper, wrist and snap. He can also get his own shot while possessing the puck
IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):
Jake has a high hickey IQ, Good Vision to see passing lanes and where to shoot. He seems very poised with his peers
Forechecking:
Jake did show some forechecking in the games I watched
Defense:
Jake did play some defense, one particular shift against Maine he made really good poke check during OT
Best Asset:
Jake's Best asset is his shot!
Biggest Concern:
Jake needs to work on the acceleration part of his game. Also needs to increase his BASH for fantasy.
Top Tier/Role Potential:
Jake could be a Tier 1 wing/top 6 wing and pp1
Justification for Top Tier Assessment:
Jake's Shot will allow him to play top6 minutes and plenty of power play 1 time
50th Percentile Tier/Role:
Tier 3/ spot duty on third line and spotty power play time
Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:
Lack of speed and not a lot of BASH
Stylistic Comparable:
I would say Patrik Lainie with slightly more mobility
Scouts Final Thoughts and Additional Stats/Info:
Jake could be a very good offensive player, but will have to work on skating. He would have to have some more BASH for fantasy purposes
Games Scouted:
2 NCAA games
