Scout: Tony
Skating:
Teddy's skating is above average but still needs work
Passing/Handling:
He is very good at passing and handling the puck, he can find teammates for open passes and a give and go
Shooting:
Teddy has to work on his shooting, his main shot is a very good snap shot, and seems to be able to find the back of the net a lot.
IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):
Teddy has great Hockey IQ, He always seems to be able to read the play to pass to and open teammate or receive a pass from a teammate for that quick snap shot. He seems to have a high level of Anticipation. He seems to have more poise than panic and seems to be able to drive the play from the wing at times.
Forechecking:
I was surprised to see Teddy and his forechecking, his motor seems to keep going, he dogs the puck when on a stick of an opposing player.
Defense:
Teddy with his forechecking plays defense in his offensive which i great way to do it. He is not physical but good with his stick
Best Asset:
I think he has 2 best assets, His IQ and his motor
Biggest Concern:
I am worried his shot and lack of physicality could keep him from getting enough playing time.
Top Tier/Role Potential:
I think Teddy could be Tier 1, On the correct team, style of play and usage in the right situations will help his cause. Probably 2nd line wing and power play time, I could see some pk time as well with his willingness to forecheck.
Justification for Top Tier Assessment:
Quick snap shot, passing with give in go, motor and could get some easy goals from forechecking
50th Percentile Tier/Role:
tier 3 checking role
Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:
With his motor, I can see a bottom 6 role and PK duty, not much power play if he can't develop his skating and shooting
Stylistic Comparable:
I would he reminds me of Brad Marchand
Scouts Final Thoughts and Additional Stats/Info:
Teddy does seem to have some goal luck, hopefully that will stay with him.
Games Scouted:
1 NCAA, 1 USNDTP
