TREVOR CONNELLY

2025-08-10

Scout: Craig Wise

Skating:

Below average, looked slow and a step behind. Gaining the redline even for a dump in was a struggle as defenders were able to back check and close the gap on him.

Passing/Handling:

Below average, not big on passing. He usually takes a shot or skates himself into trouble.

Shooting:

Above average, Connelly can rip it with a quick little snapshot.

IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):

Low panic, which causes him to wait too long most times and skates himself into a corner.

Forechecking:

Average, Connnelly does throw the body when given the chance but he's not out there looking for hits.

Defense:

Average for a winger, nothing stood out in a negative way but wasnt making any sort of game changing plays.

Best Asset:

His shot, this will be his ticket to the NHL if he can find a way to find more open ice to use it.

Biggest Concern:

His one dimensional game, if he isnt shooting pucks and scoring than he isnt doing a whole lot of anything else.

Top Tier/Role Potential:

Tier 2 60-70 points with modest BASH

Justification for Top Tier Assessment:

It was a rough year for Connelly adjusting to quicker play and stronger competition, but if he can continually grow and develop he has the tool set to be a top 6 winger.

50th Percentile Tier/Role:

Tier 3 limited BASH

Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:

If Connelly struggles to improve against tougher competition than he will be forced down the lineup.

Stylistic Comparable:

Mackie Samoskevich, but with a lesser ability to find open ice and get that shot off.

Scouts Final Thoughts and Additional Stats/Info:

Connelly has a long ways to go before I would ever consider him in the NHL. He needs to learn to move the puck much earlier and limit the poor givaways.

Games Scouted:

Bakersfield * 2 AHL and Bostin Uni
