GABE PERREAULT

2025-08-03

Scout: Patrick Ploch

Skating:

Perreault's skating is average. He's not the fastest but he keeps up well with play. The east and west movement is a positive.

Passing/Handling:

Perreault is above average in passing and handling. He often doesn't keep the puck on his stick long enough to display the handling. The passing is imaginative and precise and he makes good passes even in bad situations.

Shooting:

Perreault has a high quality shoot. He has good hands in close, can find holes and place pucks there.

IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):

Gabe has a high hockey IQ. Even under pressure, he makes good plays that show his awareness of where his teammates and the other team are.

Forechecking:

Perreault can contribute on the forecheck by stealing pucks, staying in motion and cycling the puck.

Defense:

Perreault is committed to defense. He skates back hard and covers his man.

Best Asset:

Gabe's best asset is his hockey IQ. It helps boost his other skills.

Biggest Concern:

His biggest concern is still the skating.

Top Tier/Role Potential:

Line 1 and PP1 with possibly 80+ points.

Justification for Top Tier Assessment:

Perreault has high end skills in most facets of his game and has made improvements to his skating that will help him reach his top end potential.

50th Percentile Tier/Role:

2nd liner/top end third liner on PP2 with 60-70 points

Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:

Perhaps the skating holds him back some and the higher level of play is more than he can process which limits him some.

Stylistic Comparable:

Johnny Gaudreau

Scout: Craig Wise

Skating:

Average to below average, Gabe isnt the fastest skater but it doesnt hinder his game at the NCAA level. This could change with tougher competition, but we have seen guys like J-Rob be successful finding open ice at the pro level.

Passing/Handling:

Above average, Gabe has great vision. One play it looked like he was going for a light dump in between the two defenders and out of no where Smith came flying through to accept the pass sending him on a breakaway.

Shooting:

Above average, Gabe showed he could score in multiple fashions. He showed some nice tip/redirection goals and was able to finish on most chances close to the net.

IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):

Above average, able to find the open ice and capitalize on it. He did show a few turnovers, but this was due to creativeness rather than any sort of panic.

Forechecking:

Average with minimal hits, however he is a turnover beast. A quick stick and high compete level allows Gabe to steal the puck off defenders resulting in offensive zone chances.

Defense:

Average, nothing really to highlight here.

Best Asset:

Gabes ability to finish is his best asset, with Will Smith and Ryan Leonard feeding him pucks in front Gabe was able to the majority of scoring chances that came his way.

Biggest Concern:

With Will Smith and Cutter Gauthier gone next year we may see a dip in points for Gabe as this was a stacked Boston College team.

Top Tier/Role Potential:

Tier 1 PPG player with average BASH

Justification for Top Tier Assessment:

If Gabe can land a top 6 role the points upside is there, average bash from the shot and block totals.

50th Percentile Tier/Role:

Tier 2, 65-75 points with average BASH

Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:

If the offence doesnt translate at the pro level we could still see a pretty good fantasy asset.

Stylistic Comparable:

A Zack Hyman when around the net and the ability to finish.
