Skating:
Has wheels. Constantly moving without the puck and can get going in a hurry.
Passing/Handling:
Smart and efficient passer. He makes clean, accurate passes and can thread the needle when needed. His puck handling isn’t flashy, but he protects the puck well and rarely makes unforced mistakes.
Shooting:
Has a solid, well-placed shot. He picks his spots well and can finish. More of a playmaker than a shoot-first forward.
IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):
Hockey IQ is one of his greatest strengths. He reads the game well, makes smart decisions under pressure, and is rarely caught out of position. Doesn't force plays and knows when to push the pace or slow things down.
Forechecking:
Relentless forechecker. Pressures defensemen into mistakes and creates turnovers. He may not be the most physically imposing forward, but his tenacity and ability to anticipate plays make him effective at disrupting breakouts.
Defense:
Responsible two-way center. He understands his defensive assignments, supports his defensemen well, and is effective at breaking up plays. Plays his position well without the puck, and he’s willing to put in the work on the backcheck.
Best Asset:
His hockey IQ and two-way reliability. He makes smart plays all over the ice and can be trusted in any situation.
Biggest Concern:
He’s not an elite offensive talent. While he’s effective, he’s not likely to be a high-end point producer at the NHL level.
Top Tier/Role Potential:
Tier 3 Player/Likely a bottom-six center who can kill penalties and provide secondary offense. Could be a key depth player.
Justification for Top Tier Assessment:
May top out at 40 points at his absolute peak. Likely 25-35 point player who will pick up assists and hits.
50th Percentile Tier/Role:
