Scout: Patrick Ploch
Skating:
Nobert is an above average skater. He has good edgework and speed, able to get up and down the ice with ease.
Passing/Handling:
Mateo is a talented passer and handler, adept at quality passes to teammates, including home run passes. The handling includes the ability to transport it up the ice.
Shooting:
Nobert has a quick and accurate release on his shot. Most of his goals come from within 10 feet through accurate wristers or soft handed deflections or moves.
IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):
Mateo has an above average IQ. The passing and movement demonstrate calmness, and seeing the play.
Forechecking:
Nobert is a capable forechecker. He will check or use his stick to steal the puck and keep the play in the zone.
Defense:
Mateo skates back hard, covers his man on in zone coverage and helps on the penalty kill but can be inconsistent in his coverage.
Best Asset:
Nobert has several good assets but the puck skills and soft touch are probably the best.
Biggest Concern:
While he does help on defense, his coverage needs to be more consistent.
Top Tier/Role Potential:
Middle sixer on PP1 with 60-70 points
Justification for Top Tier Assessment:
He has deficiencies that he can shore up to reach a high end third liner or good second liner.
50th Percentile Tier/Role:
Bottom sixer on PP2 with 45-55 points.
Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:
If he can't improve his weaknesses sufficiently he has enough skill to play a lesser role.
Stylistic Comparable:
Mikael Granlund
