Scout: Tony
Skating:
Smooth efficient skater, looks effortless
Passing/Handling:
Very Good passer, both getting puck out of d zone to send a teammate in, or the pass shot toward the net
Shooting:
Shooting is decent needs to work on this but I think it will come in time
IQ (Vision, Anticipation, Panic/Poise):
IQ is above average, Vision is excellent , sometimes a little panic but can usually recover.
Forechecking:
I have seen forecheck when he has went deep into O zone, but usually will be responsible and not go to deep, to get back to d zone
Defense:
Not a lot of hits but uses size well in tight and a lot of stick work to take puck away from opponent
Best Asset:
Size and Hockey IQ, skating would be third on the list.
Biggest Concern:
Knowing when to gone in deep to o zone or stay back, can get beat going back to d zone. That will come with confidence and time. Improved during the games i saw this year.
Top Tier/Role Potential:
Tier 2 points wise. top 4 d, and power play 2, pk 2
Justification for Top Tier Assessment:
He has the skill and ability but still has to learn timing and maybe a matter of slotting consider his other d partners being further along. (Mortiz)
50th Percentile Tier/Role:
Tier 3 3rd pair, maybe little time on PP and PK
Justification for 50th Percentile Tier Assessment:
Some inconsitencies, but again with confidence and learning hopefully that will happen less often.
Stylistic Comparable:
I would offensive side Cale Makar (Not a s fast, but makes up for it with long smooth strides). defense young Nick Lidstrom.
Scouts Final Thoughts and Additional Stats/Info:
Has a chance to be a stalwart on wings blue line for years to come and solidify wings top 2 d pair.
Games Scouted:
1 NHL game and 1 AHL game ( many nhl games in person)
